This nation, so caught up and comfortable with the normal two choices it has seen itself presented with over the past 109 years, now, more than ever, needs another. We see opinion polls telling us that more Australians are turning to the Greens because of their severe dissatisfaction with Labor and the Liberals. But the best choice for Australia, the best choice for tomorrow, the best choice to light this nation’s path into the darkness and uncertainty that is the future, is the Australian Democrats.
We are the middle ground in Australian politics. We are the voice of the people. We represent the accumulated, modern advancement of humanity. With a political landscape dominated by the old, ignorant, unwieldy juggernauts that are Labor and the Liberals, we represent the future.
This party, so doubted and downtrodden and forgotten by the dissenters and the ignorant, is the embodiment of that most noble of all Australian ideologies: the fair go. We represent the future. We represent equal rights. We represent humanity and this planet we call home.
